Fees and Rebates

What is the Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?

An MHCP is a support plan for someone who is going through mental health concerns and is obtained through your General Practitioner (GP).

A standard MHCP provides you with 10 sessions in a calendar year.

If you are on the mental health care plan, you will receive a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session (general psychologist) and $141.85 per session (clinical psychologist).

If you have a Medicare card and a valid GP referral, we will process your Medicare claim for you within 24-48 hours from your session.

How to obtain MHCP?

Visit your GP to determine if you are eligible for an MHCP.

Payment for sessions

All sessions must be paid prior to the session via bank transfer or credit card. Once you have booked in, a confirmation email will be sent to you and a telehealth video link.

Private Health Insurance

Most private health funds cover psychology sessions, but you need to check with your fund to find out what is covered.

What if I do not have a GP referral?

If you do not have a GP referral, you can still book in for sessions privately. Private sessions are not rebated under Medicare.
